The decision on reading the Quran using Tajweed is as follows:

In his famous poem detailing the rules of Tajweed, Muhammad bin Al-Jazaree, the renowned Qur’an and Hadeeth scholar of the 9th Century (Hijri), says: “And applying Tajweed is an issue of essential requirement, whoever does not apply Tajweed to the Qur’an, then he is a sinner.”

As a result, he saw it as a duty, and he saw abandoning it as a sin.

And the majority of experts say that every Muslim who has memorized or studied a portion or all of the Qur’an has an individual duty to follow the Tajweed regulations of the Qur’an.

It is an established Sunnah since the Qur’an was revealed with Tajweed principles applied to it.

And the Prophet (SAW) recited it back to Jibreel in that manner, and the Prophet’s Companions (SAW) read it in that manner.
